20 years later At open tombs , Martin Scorsese finds his old friend Paul Schrader. The director of Taxi Driver will indeed produce the next film by the scriptwriter and director of First Reformed , we learn from Deadline . The two men also worked together on Raging Bull and The Last Temptation of Christ . It will therefore be their fifth collaboration.
With the arrival of Scorsese, the green light is given to The Card Counter which, as its title suggests, takes place in the world of gambling. The story follows a certain William Tell (Oscar Isaac), an inveterate card player who helps an angry young man (Tye Sheridan) in his quest for revenge against an army colonel played by Willem Dafoe. Tiffany Haddish is also in the cast in the role of a mysterious creditor who will support the duo in its tour of the casinos, with in sight the poker tournament of the World Series.
No shooting or release date has been announced, but rehearsals have already started, as Paul Schrader announced on his Facebook account, photo supporting.
