Murder Mystery: Netflix comedy with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston breaks audience records

The crime movie inspired by Agatha Christie’s novels has exceeded 30 million views.

A Netflix production bringing together the comedic talents of Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Dany Boon could only hit the mark. Murder Mystery , an investigative comedy freely inspired by Death on the Nile , has even exceeded the expectations of the streaming platform, according to the official viewing figures. After just 3 days, the film has surpassed 30 million views, including over 13 million in North America. A better performance than Bright , buddy cop fantasy movie with Will Smith in the title role, which had been watched by 11 million homes over the same duration.

30,869,863 accounts watched Murder Mystery in its first 3 days – the biggest opening weekend ever for a Netflix Film. 13,374,914 accounts in the US and Canada, and 17,494,949 more worldwide.

Murder Mystery could also surpass the spectacular ( and statistically debatable ) peaks achieved by Bird Box during its first week of operation, 45 million views in all countries. The film written by James Vanderbilt marks the second collaboration between Aniston and Sandler, 8 years after the romantic comedy The Mytho ( Just Go With It).
